It was a very hot day in the Masai Mara. At a time when lions would normally be asleep or sheltering in the shade, these two males chose to brave the sun and cool down with a drink in a pool of water that had formed thanks to the seasonal rains. They were part of a pride with more than 10 lions roaming the Mara plains hungry for a kill.
